I pointed out to the Asus guy that this sounds like a design and manufacturing fault and not just wear and tear. I had planned to fix it quickly until I got really sick and was unable to, now that I feel better I wanted to start working on it. The other day I noticed while holding in the charger an ample amount of heat coming from the connector head and immediately took the charger out.

I bought a new power cord, but that did nothing to fix the problem, so it is obviously a problem with the internal mechanism. What a waste of £60 I paid them for the repair!

We just wish the keyboard felt a little schematic solid and that the Wi-Fi performance was stronger from longer distances. However, we really like the K53E because it lasts an hour longer on a charge than either of those systems and looks better doing it. Video editing is just out of its reach, and single-finger scrolling is out of the question. It certainly looks like a much more expensive system but functionality is certainly just as important. Its build quality is decent for what it is, but we're not fans of its keyboard and its touchpad can sometimes be too resistive. The location of the power port is also annoying. Although the K53S has one or two drawbacks that might influence your buying decision, the fact you can get that kind of power for under £700 means it's worthy of consideration. In the smartphone sector, Asus is not among rev Top 5 and has only a small market share as of 2016. Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards. Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards. Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be schematic with k53sv cards. The laptop k53sv evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.

I'm going to have a look at it later on today and see if I can repair the port with a bit of soldering and will report back. So about a month and a half ago I started having charging problems with my Asus laptop. If it doesn't work, just put the hard drive in an enclosure and use the data on a real computer, as in, not a laptop. I'm going to make a complaint to Asus' head office. Appears that we ought to send complaints to the same area, because this issue is not beng identified as a common problem with the K53E model and it is being ignored as a manufacturer problem.
